Two kinds of jobs
One is a file: a cutting contour a laser or plasma machine accepts directly — ordered, paid, delivered. The other is a project: old documentation or an existing part becomes complete CAD data again. We do both. The way in is different.

Have your PDF converted to DXF
A PDF drawing becomes a DXF file by rebuilding the contour in CAD on the dimensions written on the drawing. An automatic converter transfers lines, but neither the scale nor closed contours — for cutting, the result is usually unusable. We do the redrawing as commissioned work at a fixed price.

A drawing becomes a DXF file by reconstructing its contour in CAD on the dimensions written on it. With a hand drawing there is nothing to convert — no geometry exists, only pencil on paper. What matters is therefore not the file format but whether the drawing carries enough dimensions to define the part unambiguously.

A photo becomes a DXF file by de-skewing the image, scaling it against a known reference dimension and then redrawing the contour in CAD. A photo carries no dimensions of its own — it only gives proportions. Whether the result fits therefore comes down to a scale photographed alongside the part, or an edge you measured yourself.

A logo becomes a cut-ready DXF file by converting the graphic into closed vector contours and preparing it for the cutting process. The real work is not the tracing but the bridges: on letters like O, A, B or D the inner areas fall out unless they are connected. Where those bridges sit decides whether the sign holds together and still reads.

Digitise a drawing archive: paper becomes CAD data
Digitising drawings does not mean scanning them. A scan is an image and stays one — you can neither measure in it nor change it. A drawing is only digitised once its geometry exists as CAD data: as an editable 2D drawing or as a 3D model with a derived drawing. We do this for single sheets just as for entire archives — with layer and naming conventions to your specification, so the data is not just there afterwards but findable.

A 3D model from a 2D drawing is not created by conversion but by design: the views and sections are read, the features recognised, and the part rebuilt in the CAD system — parametric, with regular geometry and the dimensioned nominal values. From the finished model the drawing is then derived to standard, instead of tracing the old one. The result is a model that can be manufactured, modified and used in assemblies.

Reverse engineering means turning an existing part back into a complete design. The part is measured or scanned, the geometry is rebuilt in CAD, and a standards-compliant manufacturing drawing with tolerances is derived from the model. The result is not a copy of the surface but a clean, editable CAD model that can be manufactured, modified and archived.

A 3D scan captures the surface of a part optically and produces a point cloud that is processed into a triangle mesh (STL). The mesh is an image — not a CAD model. Whether you need the mesh itself, a surface model derived from it (STEP), or a comparison against existing CAD data determines effort and result. We deliver all three levels and tell you beforehand which one makes sense for your purpose.
